Would it be okay if you lost weight by eating a cookie between meals?

Today I to let you know that the Diet Cookies are really working. I have been having one in the afternoon with a bottle of water and one in the evening. At dinner time now I am noticing that I am just too full to eat much. I have only been eating about a half of what I used to eat at dinner. Pretty cool. I have also noticed the extra energy from the diet cookies and the effects of the fiber.  The cookie in the evening is controlling my hunger, when I used to go and raid the frig. I am impressed so far.

Now I have to train my self to only do food shopping in the outside perimeter aisle. You know, fruit, veggies, meats and poultry etc. All of the processed foods are in the inside aisles. Sunday when I went Food Shopping, the Girl Scouts, had there table set up and were selling "Girl Scout Cookies". At that moment I forgot my diet and bought a box of "thin mints"my favorite girl scout cookies. Later in the evening when I found my self munching on them like there was no tomorrow, I realized what I was doing. No more!!!!  No more sweets of any kind are allowed in this house until I loose that weight. And no more processed foods.

Spring is right around the corner, about 5 more weeks here in New England. My goal is to loose 2 pounds per week during that time, by just eating the diet cookies and staying away from the processed stuff. If the weather holds up I will do some walking but that is just to be in shape for the spring no really for loosing weight but I am sure it will help some.

I am ordering the Diet Cookies from an Online Store : http://NaturesHealthandWellness.com

Imagine...you can lose weight just by eating a cookie 15-45 minutes before a meal

Last week I received my first shipment of Chocolate Chip diet cookies and I was very excited. I need to lose that winter weight, I feel like a bear that has been hibernating all winter. My goal is to lose 20 pounds, the problem is that it is that "last 20" pounds that is always the hardest to lose, so I have been told. I never really had to worry about my weight or diet, until I got into my 50's.

Now I want to lose the weight to give my heart and my knees a break from carrying and supporting all of that weight. Just like everyone my age I do a have a bit of arthritis in my knees.

In my right knee, I have an additional problem, I have lost the pads (miniscus pads)  that cushion the upper leg bone from the lower leg bone. There is not much I can do about it, the Doctors told me to hold off as long as possible with getting a knee replacement. Reason, the replacement is only good for about 10 years and then has to be replaced again. Ouch. So they want me to hold off as long as possible so they only have to do one replacement, also the procedure is being improved all the time.

In order to lose this weight I am going to start off by eating one diet cookie with a glass of water before lunch and dinner. This will fill me up so that I do not over eat and it will also reduce the between meal snacks. I will keep you posted on my progress. I am sure I can lose about 15 pounds in 2 months, that's the 60 day goal, the long term goal is to lose 20 pounds.

You can get these cookies from the same website I did, you order online and then they are shipped right to your door.  http://natureshealthandwellness.com

Time to loose some of that "winter weight".

If you never had to go on a diet again, would that be okay?

Well, I felt the same way about diets. Diets interfere with my eating. I can't schedule time for the gym, I don't like to count calories, Diet foods have no taste and are watered down and they don't work. So, I needed a new diet strategy and find a diet program that would allow me to eat, what ever I wanted and still loose weight.

I got figuring.....I need something nutritious, to fill me up between meals, but still allows me to eat what ever I want, so I went looking for what was available.

You know how a lot of people eat those Diet Cookies, you see in all of the ads these days and are interested in natural health?

Well I found this online website, that has a really cool diet cookie, and it comes in 2 flavors, chocolate chip and oatmeal. Dieters love eating these to manage their weight, they have lots of fiber, provides lots of energy, are loaded with vitamins. I found out you can buy these online from them and get a couple of boxes sent right to your door every month. I don't even have to go out to the store to get them, how cool is that.

If I eat a cookie instead of a donut for those mid morning munches, then, I won't over eat at lunch. If I grab one for that late afternoon hunger attack instead of something out of the vending machine, then, I won't eat as much at dinner time.

So I got thinking, what is going to be easier?

Going on one of those boring, horrible tasting diets, counting calories at every meal, working up a sweat at the gym every week.

Or, going online, ordering 2 boxes of diet cookies to be shipped to me monthly, having them delivered right to my door, and eating cookies between meals to loose weight.

So, What do you think ?

Brown Seaweed helping Cancer Sufferers

What’s in the SEAWEED that’s helping so many cancer sufferers and attracting scientists world-wide?

“CURRENT APPROACHES TO CANCER TREATMENT ARE WRONG! CANCER CELL IS NOT A THREAT TO US IF WE CAN CAUSE IT TO COMMIT SUICIDE JUST LIKE ANY NORMAL CELL DOES!” Dr. Ando from Japan boldly stated at his seminar.

“Things I can only explain as miracles are happening right in front of my eyes right now,” he continued.

“Last year, I recommended it to my recurrent lung cancer patient, and my thoughts about cancer treatment completely changed. Because the patient was very old, any more treatment would only have done more damage to him, and he was dying very fast. But 3 months after he was admitted to my hospital, his cancer cells were completely gone. That’s not all. He is now living a healthy life with the rest of his friends. If I had him treated under modern medical care, I might have extended his life a little longer, but, frankly, I am not sure if he could’ve ever lived a healthy life again.” Dr. Ando raised his voice overwhelmed with emotion.

Medical professionals and scientists around the world are excited to finally discover the 3,000 year old secret of life saving gift, from the ocean, the ‘fucoidan’.

Despite the rapid growth of the modern medicine, there are still many diseases that the doctors don’t have treatments for. Amongst these many difficult to treat diseases, the #1 issue is the CANCER.

The reason cancer cells are so deadly is because they do not die. Our body is made up of about 60,000,000,000,000 cells. Old cells die, and new cells are born. This is normal. And this normal dying process is called, ‘APOPTOSIS,’ meaning programmed cell death. However, unlike the normal cells, cancer cells do not die. They don’t have apoptosis. They live and multiply forever.

Then in 1996, a miraculous substance called fucoidan from seaweed was first introduced at the 55th Japan Cancer Convention. It was reported that fucoidan causes apoptosis to cancer cells without affecting the normal cells.

The idea of using seaweed to prevent or treat diseases goes back at least as far as ancient Egypt. What’s so great about seaweed? Evidence shows that ancient Egyptians used seaweed to treat breast cancer. Much more recently, scientists have theorized that seaweed in the Japanese diet might be an important reason postmenopausal Japanese women have only one-ninth the amount of breast cancer as do women in the United States.

So far there are about 659 studies on fucoidan that can be found in http://www.pubmed.gov.
Here are 2 briefs.

(1) In a study done at Fukuoka University, Japan, researchers discovered that fucoidan inhibited the invasion of cancer cells. They discovered that fucoidan specifically inhibited the attachment of cancer cells to laminin.

(2) In the Laboratory de Pharmacologie Marine, in Nantes, France, researchers studied the anti-tumor and anti-proliferative properties of fucoidan extracts from brown sea plants. They discovered that fucoidan exerts a reversible antiproliferative activity in the G1 phase of the cell cycle. Their study also showed anti-tumor activity in mice bearing non-small-cell bronchopulmonary carcinoma cancer. Their study indicates that fucoidan exhibits inhibitory effects both in vitro and in vivo as a potent anti-tumor agent.

Fucoidan is a complex polysaccharide composed largely of fucopyranoside and natural sulfate found in certain brown seaweeds. Researches indicate that the higher the sulfate group counts in a plant, the higher its therapeutic potential.

Following is the clinical results from Dr. Akira, MotoKuniribkushu Cancer Center in Japan. (The percentages show either total disappearance of cancer cells or reduction by more than half since taking Fucoidan.)

Cancer of tongue 83%

Breast Cancer 78%

Cancer of Pharynx 81%

Uterine Carcinoma 72%

Esophageal Cancer 84%

Ovarian cancer 58%

Stomach Cancer 84%

Pancreatic cancer 48%

Colon Cancer 80%

Leukemia 84%

Synchronous Primary Lung Cancer 86%

Prostatic Cancer 73%

Lung Cancer (adenocarcinoma) 75%

Bladder tumor 72%

Lung Cancer(small cell carcinoma) 79%

Based on more than 30 years of studies on fucoidan, an American company, The Limu Company, spent millions of dollars and decades of research to develop a chemical free extraction process. And the product is called the original limu which constitutes 83% fucoidan.

It has been featured in ABC News, CBS News, FOX news, and NBC news. It was also appeared in Natural Health, Health and Fitness, the press of Atlantic City, BIOMED business journal, and USA Today.

If you are interested in finding out more about this amazing discovery, you should visit http://www.pubmed.gov and http://www.seo.originallimu.com

Lastly, Jane Teas, a pathobiologist with the USC School of Medicine, said that some studies are looking at seaweed as a possible treatment or preventive for other ailments, including colon cancer, HIV infection and avian flu.

Chamomile Benefits

Dried chamomile flower is an age-old medicinal drug known in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. Chamomile's popularity grew throughout the Middle Ages, when people turned to it as a remedy for numerous medical complaints including asthma, colic, fevers, inflammations, nausea, nervous complaints, children's ailments, skin diseases and cancer. As a popular remedy, it may be thought of as the European counterpart of ginseng.

Recent and on-going research has identified chamomile's specific anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-allergenic and sedative properties, validating its long-held reputation. This attention appears to have increased the popularity of the herb and nowadays Chamomile is included as a drug in the pharmacopoeia of 26 countries.

Chamomile has been used for centuries in teas as a mild, relaxing sleep aid, treatment for fevers, colds, stomach ailments, and as an anti-inflammatory, to name only a few therapeutic uses. Extensive scientific research over the past 20 years has confirmed many of the traditional uses for the plant and established pharmacological mechanisms for the plant's therapeutic activity, including antipeptic, antispasmodic, antipyretic, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiallergenic activity.

Latin Names: Matricaria recutita, Chamomilla recutita

Common Names: Bodegold, Camomile, Chamomile, Common chamomile, German chamomile, Hungarian chamomile, Sweet false chamomile, Wild chamomile

Suggested Properties:
Anthelmintic, anti-allergenic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-peptic, anti-pyretic, anti-septic, anti-spasmodic, carminative, diaphoretic, emmenagogue, sedative, stomachic

Indicated for:
aiding digestion, aiding sleep, allergy relief, asthma, bacterial infections, burns and sunburn, burns (minor), Crohn's disease, colic, colds, conjunctivitis, diverticular disorders, eczema, eye inflammation and infection, facilitate bowel movement, gastritis, gastrointestinal problems, haemorrhoids, heartburn, inflammation, inflammatory bowel conditions, insomnia, irritable bowel problems, lumbago, menstrual cramps, nausea, nervous complaints, peptic ulcers, rashes, relieving morning sickness, restlessness, rheumatic problems, skin ulcers, stress-related flatulence, stress relief, teething problems, ulcerative colitis, wounds

In addition to medicinal use, chamomile enjoys wide usage, especially in Europe and the U.S., as a refreshing beverage tea and as an ingredient in numerous cosmetic and external preparations. Rob McCaleb, President of the Herb Research Foundation in Boulder, Colorado estimates that over one million cups of Chamomile tea are ingested worldwide each day, making it probably the most widely consumed herb tea.

Although best known as a muscle relaxant and antispasmodic, chamomile is also believed to have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory capabilities. The plant's healing properties come from its daisylike flowers, which contain volatile oils (including bisabolol, bisabolol oxides A and B, and matricin) as well as flavonoids (particularly a compound called apinegin) and other therapeutic substances. Chamomile may be used internally or externally. As a popular remedy, it may be thought of as the European counterpart of ginseng.

Specifically, chamomile may:

-
as a tea, be used for lumbago, rheumatic problems and rashes.
-
as a salve, be used for haemorrhoids and wounds.
-
as a vapor, be used to alleviate cold symptoms or asthma.
-
relieve restlessness, teething problems, and colic in children.
-
relieve allergies, much as an antihistamine would.
-
aid in digestion when taken as a tea after meals.
-
relieve morning sickness during pregnancy.
-
speed healing of skin ulcers, wounds, or burns.
-
treat gastritis and ulcerative colitis.
-
reduce inflammation and facilitate bowel movement without acting directly as a purgative.
-
be used as a wash or compress for skin problems and inflammations, including inflammations of mucous tissue.
-
promote general relaxation and relieve stress. Animal studies show that chamomile contains substances that act on the same parts of the brain and nervous system as anti-anxiety drugs. Never stop taking prescription medications, however, without consulting your doctor.
-
control insomnia. Chamomile's mildly sedating and muscle-relaxing effects may help those who suffer from insomnia to fall asleep more easily.
-
Treat diverticular disease, irritable bowel problems and various gastrointestinal complaints. Chamomile's reported anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic actions relax the smooth muscles lining the stomach and intestine. The herb may therefore help to relieve nausea, heartburn, and stress-related flatulence. It may also be useful in the treatment of diverticular disorders and inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn's disease.
-
soothe skin rashes (including eczema), minor burns and sunburn. Used as a lotion or added in oil form to a cool bath, chamomile may ease the itching of eczema and other rashes and reduces skin inflammation. It may also speed healing and prevent bacterial infection.
-
treat eye inflammation and infection. Cooled chamomile tea can be used in a compress to help soothe tired, irritated eyes and it may even help treat conjunctivitis.
-
heal mouth sores and prevent gum disease. A chamomile mouthwash may help soothe mouth inflammations and keep gums healthy.

Notes:

If you suffer from allergies to plants of the Compositae family (a large group including such flowers as daisies, ragweed, asters and chrysanthemums), you may wish to be cautious about using chamomile at first. While there have been isolated reports of allergic reactions, causing skin rashes and bronchial constriction, most people can use this herb with no problem.
